Legal 500
I’m the Leeds Regional Lead Serious Injury Partner, leading both the Serious Injury team and the national Criminal Injuries compensation team.
Having specialised in serious injury claims for over three decades, I have gained vast experience dealing with all areas of serious injury including:

Mon - Fri: 8:00am–5:30pm
Sat - Sun - Bank Holidays: Closed
I work with individuals (adults and children) who have sustained life-changing injuries in a variety of circumstances.
My clients have been seriously injured either through someone else’s negligence or malicious behaviour. My teams and I work to get our clients the compensation they need to rebuild their lives and confidently move forward.
I’ve pursued claims through various levels of the legal system, including the Appeal Courts.
Radclyffe v MoD is widely recognised as a key case establishing that the Ministry of Defence owes a duty of care to service personnel both on and off duty. The case involved a young second lieutenant who sustained a spinal cord injury after performing a high bridge jump during an off-duty activity.
The case distinguishes between civilian recreational activities and activities undertaken by members of the Armed Forces when not on duty, confirming that the MoD can still owe legal responsibilities to off-duty personnel. It also clarifies that, when undertaking such activities, an officer is effectively always on duty and must comply with orders.
My clients are people, not just cases or injuries. To achieve the best outcomes, it’s important to understand what matters most to them and what they want to achieve.
Every person is different, so there is no single solution that works for everyone. Making a claim is not the end goal; it’s a way of helping people access the support, rehabilitation, and outcomes they need.
The most important part of my role is listening. I take the time to understand who my clients were before their accident and work with them to help rebuild their lives. This often means being flexible, thinking creatively, and adapting plans when circumstances change.
While a claim is ongoing, I connect my clients with our in-house support services, who can help them secure the assistance they need before their claim is settled. I also work to secure interim payments from the person or organisation responsible for their injuries. These early compensation payments can be used to fund rehabilitation, replace lost earnings, or provide additional support.
Getting to know you and building a strong understanding of your situation is a key part of how I work.
You're in control throughout the process because it's your claim and your future. I'll meet you wherever suits you best, whether this is one of our offices, at your home, or in hospital. We can also communicate by phone or video call if you prefer.
I’ll take the time to listen carefully to what's happened, what you're worried about, and what you'd like life to look like moving forward.
My job is to give you the information, guidance, and support you need to understand your options and make decisions with confidence. I'll explain things clearly, answer any questions you have, and move at a pace that feels right for you, with no pressure whatsoever.
