A relationship built around your needs

Our Family Law team is one of the biggest in the country, operating out of a nationwide network of offices.

We’ve helped thousands of clients negotiate family law issues. We always start with listening, so we understand what you’re going through and can guide you every part of the process.

It's because of this that independent legal guides Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500 recognise us as having one of the UK's leading family law teams.

They praise our family law team for having "...real strength in depth with a large team and a number of very qualified and capable lawyers. The client care is excellent. The lawyers provide realistic and accurate quotes and keep you updated throughout the matter." - Legal 500, 2023.

What kind of help can I get?

There are a range of options that can secure a divorce without you going to court.
  • For unmarried couples

If you are living together Some people believe living together counts as a “common law marriage”, where you are given the same rights as a legally married couple. This is sadly not true. But you can draft a cohabitation agreement to protect you if your relationship breaks down. If you need a prenuptial agreement We’ll help you draft an agreement if you are planning to get married, but want to agree beforehand how you would split your property and finances if you were to divorce. For new or later in life relationships If you have children and/or have met a new partner, we can help you protect your best interests – and your children’s inheritance.

  • If your relationship has broken down

If you are divorcing or dissolving a civil partnership.  We’ll guide you through the legal process and help you protect your interests to get to a fair financial settlement. Separating couples If you are separated but aren’t ready (or don’t want) to divorce, we can help you draft a temporary separation agreement. If you need counselling Legal expertise is only one part of our role. Our expert counsellor can help you with practical, affordable, and professional emotional support.

  • If you have children

For those adopting or going through surrogacy We’ll help you negotiate the legal process of securing parenthood, as well as other legal issues around adoption and surrogacy. Making child arrangements following divorce We can negotiate things like the time your children spend with each parent, where they go to school, and what child maintenance is paid. We can also help step-parents and grandparents secure contact with a child. Child abduction or relocation If your former partner has taken your child somewhere without your consent, we will fight to help you get them back. If you or your former partner wants to move to another country with your children, we can step in.

Recognised for excellence. Chosen for care.
