Youth Mobility Visa
The Youth Mobility visa allows eligible individuals from specific countries to come to the UK for up to two or three years. This visa scheme is designed to facilitate international cultural exchange and provide opportunities for young people from qualifying countries.

Expert legal support for Youth Mobility visas
This route does not require applicants to have sponsorship, a job offer, or to meet specific skill or salary requirements.
Eligibility is, however, restricted by nationality, age thresholds, and in some cases, requires applicants to participate in a ballot before applying.
There are country-specific quotas for the Youth Mobility visa, which limit the number of visas granted annually per participating country. As mentioned above, for certain nationalities, entry into a ballot is required due to the high demand for this visa category.
Who can apply for a Youth Mobility visa?
A young person can apply for a Youth Mobility visa if they would like to come to the UK on a short-term basis, for up to two years, and they meet the following requirements:
- The applicant must be either a British Overseas Citizen, a British Overseas Territories Citizen or a British National (Overseas) or be from one of the following eligible countries or territories: Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Iceland, Hong Kong (SAR passport), Japan, Republic of Korea, Taiwan or Uruguay.
- The applicant must be aged between 18 and 30, or 18 and 35, depending on their nationality.
- The applicant must satisfy the maintenance requirement to show that they can support themselves while in the UK.
An applicant will not qualify for a Youth Mobility visa if they have children under the age of 18 who live with them or are financially dependent on them, or if they have already lived in the UK under this visa scheme.
