Dr Stan Negligence & Abuse Compensation Claims
If you or a loved one were treated by Dr Iuliu Stan, you could claim compensation after it was found he’d acted negligently. Dr Stan practised at the Royal Cornwall Hospital (also known as Treliske), and the Trust has accepted that his actions were sexually motivated.

Who can Irwin Mitchell help claim against Dr Stan?
The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust originally accepted Dr Stan had been administering rectal diclofenac negligently. Since then, the Trust has expanded the negligent treatments to include:
- Inserted and/or extracted a urinary catheter
- Rectal examinations
- Testicular examinations
- Any examination/treatment or touching of the genital area.
If you or a loved one has had one of the above treatments, or if you were given rectal painkillers by Dr Stan, contact our team. We might also be able to help if Dr Stan performed another operation, we’ll listen to what’s happened to you and advise whether you can claim.
Given the influx of complaints expected for treatments performed by Dr Stan, it may be that we add your claim to a larger group claim. This may benefit your claim because we can take a larger number of claims to Dr Stan at once and increase the likelihood of success.
