LGBT Financial Recognition Scheme Claims
If you were affected by the ban against LGBT service personnel, you may be entitled to a recognition payment under the Financial Recognition Scheme (FRS). Our military solicitors are here to help you navigate the application process or appeal a decision, if needed.
The deadline for applications is 12 December 2026.

What is the LGBT Financial Recognition Scheme?
The LGBT Financial Recognition Scheme is for veterans and service personnel impacted by the ban of LGBT military personnel between 27 July 1967 and 11 January 2000.
The deadline for applications is 12 December 2026. If you don’t apply in time, you will lose your right to a payment under the scheme.
People were criminalised, imprisoned, dismissed, and some had their medals stripped from them.
If you were impacted by the ban, you can use the LGBT FRS to apply for a recognition payment.
